He noted that the road, which links several communities, has never been tarred, creating persistent hardship for residents, especially during social and economic activities.

“While we appreciate the governor’s efforts across the state, we are appealing for urgent attention to the Otutuama–Iwhrogun–Ophorigbala–Isaba road, which has remained untarred for decades,” Okporoko said.

According to him, the road connects over ten communities within the Owhawha sub-clan in Ughievwen Kingdom and holds significant potential for boosting socio-economic development if constructed.

“This road is critical to unlocking development in our area. Its construction will improve connectivity, enhance trade, and uplift the standard of living of our people,” he stated.

While reaffirming the community’s support for the governor’s MORE Agenda, Okporoko urged the state government to prioritise the project, describing it as the most pressing challenge facing the area.

“We remain committed to supporting the governor, but we earnestly appeal that this road be considered. Addressing it will go a long way in easing the burden on our people,” he said.

He added that residents of the Owhawha sub-clan would remain deeply appreciative if the project is executed.

Chairman of Ughelli South United Forum also maintained that students and Pupils from the are finds it difficult to get to their schools on time due to the deplorable state of the roads.

“The current state of the roads in Owhawha sub clan is affecting the academics of our children because it is very difficult for them to access their schools most especially when it rains, as we go into the raining season I am afraid if our children can still go to school, Okporoko lamented.

Okporoko also disclosed that members of the Ughelli South United Forum have expressed readiness to support the governor politically, citing ongoing projects in Ughelli South as evidence of his commitment to development.
