UGHELLI SOUTH LGA PDP PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON OGUMA AS ITS POLITICAL LEADER

The peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ughelli South Local Government Area, held its enlarged meeting on Friday 16th September, 2022 at Unity Hall, Council Secretariat, Otu-Jeremi.

The meeting was summoned to brief Leaders, Political Appointees, LGA/Ward Executives and party faithfuls on the Party’s approved guidelines for the 2023 general elections as directed by National Working Committee of the Party.

Speaking during the meeting, Hon. D.M Oshetigho, the PDP LGA Chairman, charged all Party members to be fully prepared for the task ahead.

He informed members present that modalities on other campaign structures will be communicated in due course and requested all to work with their various Ward EXCO to achieve outstanding victories in the forth-coming General Elections coming up in 2023.

Oshetigho thanked all members for their steadfastness and support for the party over the years.

The Party Chairman further disclosed that wrappers for the flag-off campaign have been purchased and donated to the Party by Olorogun J. U. Oguma.

He said that distribution will be done Ward by Ward for collection by Party members.

Oshetigho, who was full of praises for Chief J. U Oguma, enumerated some of the outstanding contributions of the philanthropist to include;

(a) Purchase of 200ft by 200ft parcel of land for the construction of a befitting party secretariat at Otu-Jeremi.

(b) Payment of Three Hundred Thousand (N300,000.00) Naira, being rent of the present Party Secretariat yearly.

(c) Solely responsible for the monthly meetings of the Party from the Ward to the LGA level with a monthly grant of over Six Hundred Thousand (N600,00.00) Naira for the past one and half year running.

(d) Payment of stipends to Ward Canvassers and has taken over responsibility for the payment of party members’ welfare across the LGA.

(e) Pledged and has started payment of stipends to the Party’s EXCO at both LGA and all Wards.

The Party Chairman remarked that Oguma’s contributions to the PDP generally, was worthy of commendation.

He prayed that God continue to bless and protect him in all his endeavours.

Highlight of the meeting was the unanimous passage of a vote of confidence on Olorogun J. U Oguma.

This followed a motion moved by Mr. Benjamin Omogosibo, Ward Chairman Jeremi Ward 3, speaking for and on behalf of all Ward Chairmen present, that a vote of confidence be passed on Olorogun J.U Oguma for his immense contributions towards the development of the Party, from the LGA to the National level.

His motion was seconded by Mr. Minister Omoteregha, an LGA EXCO Representative from Ewu ward 2
Speaking after the close of the meeting, the newly sworn in Ughelli South Youth President, Hon. Happy Gbeke enjoined all youths in Ughelli South LGA to support the Party during the forth-coming general elections.

He said that he will mobilize the entire Youth of the party to ensure that PDP gets it 5 over 5. Gbeke, who further reaffirmed the vote of confidence unanimously passed on Olorogun J.U Oguma by the Party, assured that the Youth Body will continue to be loyal and rally their support to Olorogun J.U Oguma for his leadership style and human capital Development to Youths of Ughelli South Local Government Area.
