Udu Traditional Council Issue Resolved: Ovie Lifts Curses, Reaffirms Udu’s Oneness.

The tension rocking the Udu Traditional Council is now a thing of the past as it was amicably resolved yesterday, Monday 13/12/2021, at Aladja community.
The Ovie of Udu Kingdom, HRM Barr. Bethel Delekpe Owhoru 1st forgave some of his subjects who protested to Asaba and wrote petitions against him, calling for his resignation. He also lifted the curses he placed on them, as he reaffirmed Udu’s Unity.
The Ovie of Udu Kingdom made this known yesterday when a high powered delegation of prominent Udu sons led by the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Hon Chief Jite Brown (JP), visited the palace, pleading for forgiveness.
Speaking at the reconciliation, Hon. Chief Jite Brown (JP) revealed that their visit was a follow up on a previous meeting which he summoned at his office at Otor-Udu last week, with some Udu stakeholders on how to resolve the crisis.
According to the Udu Council Chairman, Barrister Moses Odibo, Chief Mike Orugbo and Chief William Rebelle who were absent due unforeseen circumstances are in support of the reconciliation move.
During the meeting, some of the persons who protested to Asaba pleaded with the Udu Monarch for forgiveness.
Others who spoke at the Palace include High Chief Sam Odibo, Otota of Udu Kingdom, Chief Richard Odibo (KSC), Honorable Federal Commissioner ( NPC), Chief Luke Djeba President Ufuoma Udu. They reiterated that that any issue affecting Udu Kingdom should be resolved internally instead of washing our dirty linens in public. They maintained that Udu Kingdom is indivisible as they thanked the Monarch for forgiving his subjects. They also called on all Udu sons and daughters both at home and in the diaspora to rally round Owhoru 1st inorder to take the Kingdom to greater heights.
