Delta State Govt. Issues Ultimatum On Illegal Structures And Roadside Trading In Koka Axis
The Delta State Government has issued a special announcement targeting traders, hawkers, and operators of unauthorized structures in areas surrounding the Koka axis. According to a statement released by Chief Godspower Asiuwhu JP, Chairman of the State Taskforce on Environment, all illegal roadside structures and trading activities spanning from Koka to Summit, Koka to Ibusa, Koka to the Overhead Bridge, and Koka to Ibusa Junction must be removed within a strict five-day ultimatum, effective today, November 4, 2024.
The directive is part of the government’s commitment to ensuring public safety, maintaining order, and improving traffic flow in these heavily trafficked areas. Failure to comply with this mandate by the set deadline will result in the immediate demolition of all unauthorized structures, and confiscation of goods belonging to defaulters.
Chief Asiuwhu emphasized that the directive is final and non-negotiable. Traders and hawkers are strongly advised to relocate to designated trading areas before enforcement begins to avoid penalties. The task force reassures the public that this measure is essential for a safer and more organized environment, urging all concerned parties to act promptly to comply with the directive.
