2027: Ogboru Welcomes Legacy ADC Members, Urges Collective Action for Electoral Victory
African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Delta State, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, has urged members of the party to subordinate individual interests to the collective goal of securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
Ogboru spoke at the weekend when he received a delegation of the former Legacy ADC executive in Delta Central, led by the senatorial leader, following their decision to realign with the present ADC structure.
The meeting, held at Ogboru’s country home in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, focused on reconciliation, reintegration and the need to strengthen the party ahead of the elections.
Ogboru said the current political environment demanded unity and cooperation, stressing that the challenges before the party could not be overcome through individual efforts.
He said the return of the Legacy ADC members provided an opportunity for members to reconcile their differences, rebuild trust and work together towards a common political objective.
According to him, the returning members should feel free to participate fully in the affairs of the party and contribute to its growth.
“I want to encourage the returning members to feel free to access my office and make serious efforts towards their full reintegration into the party structure, and put the past behind them,” Ogboru said
He also called on them to help persuade other former members who had not yet returned to rejoin the party, saying their return would further strengthen the ADC’s political structure.
“As we do this, we are also mobilising voters for the success of the party in the forthcoming general elections,” he said.
Ogboru, who described himself as a member of the Delta State Legacy ADC and an early adopter of the current ADC leadership and coalition, said he was pleased to see former colleagues reunite with the present ADC family.
He urged all party members to remain committed, peaceful and united, saying a strong and coordinated opposition would be essential to the party’s ambition of securing electoral victory in 2027.
