ASIUWHU ADVOCATES MORE ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION DAYS
*SUPERVISES SANITATION ENFORCEMENT IN WARRI, UVWIE
By Ambrose Ologide/Uche Igbejie-Chukwuma/Juliet Emeni
The Honourable Commissioner for Environment Delta State, Chief Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu has advocated for more days in the environmental sanitation exercise in Delta State.
He made the call while addressing press shortly after the last Delta State environmental sanitation exercise in Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Saturday 24th September, 2022.
Asiuwhu explained that the call was necessitated by the fact that most Deltans were ignorant and nonchalant on compliance of the monthly exercise.
He reasoned that the exercise should not be limited only to headquarters of local government areas but to the nooks and crannies of all local governments in the state.
To this end, Asiuwhu disclosed that he will discuss his suggestion with the concerned ministry, local government council chairmen and traditional rulers.
He was however full of praises for the Chairman of Delta State Taskforce on Environment, Hon Syvelster Oromoni
The state coordinator of the taskforce, Comrade Kingsley Odiaka Iweka and other members of the taskforce for their three days effective sensitisation in Warri South, Uvwie, Udu and Okpe local government areas before the exercise.
