The Liberator Visit To Flooded Communities In Burutu Local Government Yesterday
Yes I have watched series of live streaming, I have read stories of how the flood has wrecked havoc on our people by making us homeless in our various communities, I have also seen photos regarding the flood and I have even written about the flood from stories told by others.
Yesterday I thought it wise as the Publisher of The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide, the man with the mandate to liberate the oppressed and disadvantageous people in the world to ply the creeks of Burutu Local Government to see things for myself.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. In company of community chairmen of Ayakoromo, Gbekebo, IYC Clan leaders in Western Zone and the president of Ijaw Defenders mandate. We have seen and I have also seen for myself that what has been reported in Delta State regarding the flood, particularly communities in Burutu Local Government Area is nothing compared to the actual suffering of the people. You can imagine a situation where we suffer without even the flood and now with the flood, the situation is now overwhelming.
This is not a joking matter, what strike me most was when a certain woman is now dropping net for fish in Ayakoromo community, this is in addition to the fact that canoes are now their homes and sleeps in very strange places.
Gbekebo, Ayakoromo, Obotebe, Ofonibenghan, Ogbeingbene and others are completely finished. We are really suffering. If at all there is Government in Nigeria, this is the right time for the Government to wear a human face by meeting the people at the point of their needs.
Seeing where people are sleeping will amaze you.
The Federal and State Governments must do something about the situation. This is beyond House of Assembly members, House of representatives members, we need action from the executive arm.
What is happening in Bayelsa State and other states regarding the flood is nothing compared to what is happening in these aforementioned communities.
Kudos to the Governor general of Ijaw nation, Sen. Douye Diri, The Governor of Bayelsa State for being on top of the flood situation by visiting, sympathizing and calling on the Federal government to do the needful in Bayelsa State.
The Delta State Governor is yet to visit any of these communities in Burutu Local Government Area, while even his principal, Atiku has been going round visiting flood ravaged states like Bayelsa State making handsome donation for the people, Governor Okowa as our revered road master have not done enough along this regard.
I also call on good spirited Nigerians and NGOs to come to the rescue of these people because they are dying in silence.
Let me leave the rest for photos to tell the story as I thank leaders in Burutu Local Government Area that have donated relief materials for the people so far including DESOPADEC.
We must know that we cannot rule over dead people but living beings. If you claim to love the people and care about the people, this is the right time to show your love to the people. The society is watching.
An exclusive comprehensive report on the visit will be published on The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide and The Liberator TV arm will also be coming out on it. This for the now will be my contribution in giving my people the needed voice of liberation.
Massive Thanks To Amb. John Dekawei , Amb. Shedrack Agediga and Chief Amb. Dr. Apst . Tomone Godspower for supporting The Liberator Newspapers Worldwide on This Movement. We deeply appreciate. May God open more doors for you people.
I am Amb. Binebai Yerin Princewill
