Yesterday, the leadership of the People’s Democratic Party Delta South held a stakeholders meeting at Oleh Isoko South LGA with heavy party stalwarts including member of PDP NEC in attendance.

The meeting was called at the instance of H/E Sen(Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa to enable the organs of the party cascade the leadership organogram to the unit level. This was to enable clear understanding of the command and control structure for accurate line of reporting.
The Delta South Senatorial District party chairman, Chief Julius Takeme said in his opening remarks that the meeting was an interactive one to enable the executives drive down critical information to crucial organs of the party and also take responses from party faithfuls on how to win convincingly in the forthcoming elections.

Following the chairman’s address, member of PDP NEC Sen Stella Omuh spoke extensively on the need for respect of existing leadership structure while canvassing strongly for the unity of purpose ahead of 2023 especially with the Governor of Delta State Sen(Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa as the Vice Presidential candidate, a lot is at stake for the state. She enjoined party faithfuls to remain steadfast because HE Alh Atiku Abubakar/Sen(Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa has the template to salvage Nigeria from the scrapyard of insecurity, poverty, strikes, unemployment, inflation, infrastructures etc to a healthier, United, safe and prosperous country. Therefore, it is imperative we sheath our swords in the overall interest of Nigerians because the People’s Democratic Party has what it takes to the win the 2023 elections at all levels.
Also, Chief Solomon Areyenka lauded the initiatives of Delta South Senatorial District party leadership for calling the meeting, says it will promote healthy and honest discussion that will further enhance party cohesion. According to him, subsequent meeting should be adequately publicized through all publicity channels to avoid an impromptu approach to meetings.

Wing Commander P.Y Biakpara who spoke from the prism of conflict resolution said, despite loosing to Sen Stella Omuh in the past, he ensured that he delivers his LGA in the overall interest of the party. The party is indeed supreme because one good turns deserves another. He call on those aggrieved persons to bare their minds before the leadership and the issues thereof shall be addressed objectively. He emphasized the need for party faithfuls to understand that, it is still the party that will deliver any candidate. Hence, it is pertinent to respect the party internal dispute settling mechanism.

In addition, the Delta South Senatorial candidate of the party, Hon Michael Diden Ejele told party faithfuls not to be distracted because what is ahead is more juicy than any charades being sold at the moment. We have employed them for almost eight(8) years, they only brought hunger, insecurity, inflation, poverty, bad roads, debts, broken marriages, unemployment etc into the country. Therefore, we should continue to speak to our people to stand firmly behind the party because it knows where it hurts. While speaking, he said those that are working tirelessly to galvanize their base should continue to demonstrate capacity because they shall be adequately rewarded because the Bible says a labourer is worthy of his/her wedges.

Finally, Chief Julius Takeme was grateful to the people for the impressive attendance despite the short notice. This is indeed a demonstration of unalloyed commitments to the ideals of the party. In his statement, ‘I believe all the reactions and responses will be promptly and robustly addressed with all the nallacrity alacrity and or impetus it deserves’.
