UYLA commends Tinubu, Oborevwori, others over Ewu monarch’s freedom

  • calls for rebuilding of Okuama

The Urhobo Youth Leaders’ Association (UYLA) has commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the release of the King of Ewu Kingdom, HRM Clement Ikolo from the custody of the Nigeria Army and called on the FG to rebuild Okuama community.

In a statement issued by UYLA’s National President, Olorogun (Amb) Samuel Onoriode Oghotomo (JP) and National Secretary, Olorogun (Dr) Augustine Ogheneovo Atiti described the freedom of the Ewu King who had been in detention following the killing of 17 military personnel in Okuama community since March 14, 2024 from the Headquarters of the Nigeria Army as good news to the Urhobo people.

UYLA commended the invaluable role played by the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori and members of the National Assembly in Delta State led by Senators Ede Dafinone, Joel Onowakpor and Ned Nwoko during the sober situation.

UYLA also thanked the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU); the Urhobo Renaissance Society (URS); Urhobo Historical Society (UHS); Urhobo Traditional Council; Urhobo Christian Ministers Association International; Urhobo Social Club; Ukoko Eghweya of UPU; Ukoko Ighene of UPU; Femi Falana (SAN); Prof GG Darah; Prof Patrick Muoboghare; Prof Sunny Awhefeada; Chief Sleek Oshare; Chief Abraham Ogbodo; Barr Malcolm Omirhobo; Zik Gbemre; and other notable individuals for their support.
