Ukodhiko Hosts Isoko Engineers, Backs Tinubu, Oborevwori Ahead of 2027

Member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Jonathan Ukodhiko, has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that the Federal Government’s ongoing reforms will deliver long-term prosperity for the nation.

Ukodhiko made the call in Abuja while hosting members of the Isoko engineering community who attended the 34th Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) Engineering Assembly.

Addressing the engineers, the lawmaker described engineering as a profession central to national development, noting that engineers play a critical role in nation-building through innovative and standard infrastructural development.

He urged professionals in the field to advocate policies that ensure engineering institutions are led by qualified engineers rather than non-professionals.

The federal lawmaker, himself an engineer, noted that politics remains a platform for service and not a lifelong career, adding that his focus was to make lasting contributions to society through quality representation and public service.

Defending the Tinubu administration’s economic policies, Ukodhiko noted that reforms such as the removal of fuel subsidy, though difficult, were a necessity aimed at addressing long-standing structural challenges confronting the country.

He argued that savings from the removal of subsidy are being redirected to infrastructure and other development projects.

He cited the rehabilitation of the East-West Road, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, reforms in the electricity sector, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and ongoing efforts toward state policing as indicators of the administration’s commitment to national development.

Ukodhiko appealed to Nigerians to remain patient and supportive of the APC administration, especially in the 2027 elections, to ensure policy continuity.

The highlight of the event was his pledge to build a permanent secretariat for the Isoko Engineers’ body to provide the association with a meeting venue and strengthen professional collaboration.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Engr. Paulina Ereremena Amudede thanked the lawmaker for hosting the engineers and commended his representation of the constituency thus far.

Also speaking, Engr. Efe-Aluta Oghale praised Ukodhiko’s developmental projects and advocacy for engineering professionals, urging him to sustain his efforts in promoting inclusive leadership and community development.

Other members of the delegation also commended the lawmaker for constituency projects, including educational infrastructure in Olomoro community, describing his intervention as impactful.

Also in attendance were Engr. Gift Okpilolo, Engr. Rita Uzezi Anota, Engr. Jude Ejenaha, and Engr. Linda Epipade Guwo.

Others were Engr. Ogheze Jacob, Engr. Tech. Edna Iroroevwo Chibuzor, Engr. Tech. Franklin O. Akorhuarho, Engr. Vivian Ebifinere Solomon, Engr. Alero Vera Otikpere, Engr. Tech. Kona Oghenerume McDonald, Edogbeji Ovenomo Mary, and Engr. Kingsley Ogbor, among others.
