No Going Back: Sapele Constituency II PDP Candidate Dismisses Withdrawal Claims
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Sapele Constituency II seat, Comr. Oghenemine Derrick Ikoyo-Eweto, has strongly denied widespread rumours claiming he has dropped out of the legislative race.
In an official disclaimer issued to his supporters and constituents, Ikoyo-Eweto described the claims as baseless propaganda orchestrated by political opponents to create confusion and weaken the confidence of his camp.
“I have not stepped down, I am not stepping down, and I have not held discussions with anyone regarding stepping down,” the PDP candidate declared.
He alleged that his rising political profile and the growing support for his campaign have panicked rival camps, forcing them to resort to misinformation rather than engaging voters with issue-based campaigns.
Ikoyo-Eweto urged his supporters to remain focused, steadfast, and united. He also advised the public to cross-check any future information regarding his campaign through his official media channels and trusted team members rather than relying on damaging market rumours.
Reaffirming his commitment to delivering transparent and people-centred representation, the Ikoyo-Iweto stated that his team would continue its ward-to-ward mobilization to secure victory at the polls.
