Ukodhiko Attends Launch of Egede’s Book On Strategic Leadership In Lagos
The Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, on Friday, December 12, 2025, honoured the invitation of Chief Sylvester Othuke Egede, a seasoned Nigerian maritime administrator and veteran port manager, to the launch of his book in Lagos.
The book presentation took place at Suburb Lounge, off Seplat/Mobil Road, Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island, and attracted notable personalities from the maritime sector, public service, academia, and the business community.
Titled The Lion of the Port Corridor: Strategy Is Everything, the book is an insightful memoir that explores the principles of strategic leadership through the lens of Chief Egede’s distinguished career in port management. Drawing from decades of hands-on managerial experience, the author vividly demonstrates how strategic planning, critical analysis, and effective collaboration can convert long-standing institutional challenges into sustainable opportunities.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ukodhiko commended Chief Egede for documenting his professional journey and sharing practical leadership lessons that transcend the maritime industry. He described the book as a valuable contribution to leadership literature, noting that its emphasis on strategy, discipline, and vision is timely for Nigeria’s evolving economic and infrastructural landscape.
“I sincerely commend Chief Sylvester Othuke Egede for producing such an insightful memoir. There is no doubt that future generations will immensely benefit from the invaluable lessons and practical insights shared in this work,” Ukodhiko stated.
The lawmaker further noted that the book will serve as a useful reference for policymakers, administrators, business leaders, and young professionals seeking to understand how purposeful leadership and strategic thinking can drive institutional growth and national development.
The event climaxed with a book review session, goodwill messages, and the formal unveiling of the publication, as guests applauded Chief Egede for his enduring contributions to Nigeria’s maritime sector and leadership development.
