Udu High Court Restraints Land Speculators From Entering Otobozi Family Land In Aladja.
The Presiding Judge of High Court two sitting at Otor-Udu, Udu Local Government Area, Justice Roli Harriman, has restrained members of the public especially land speculators from entering the Otobozi family land in Aladja Community.
The Otor-Udu High Court Two gave the ruling on a suit, OUHC/157/2020, between Otobozi family and a member of the family, Mr Solomon Olo, popularly called Owhowho over the land measuring seventy five acres at Obuvu quarters, Aladja.
Justice Harriman who noted that the property is a subject matter of suit pending in Court, however allowed only Mr Michael Edje who has crops on the land to continue to tend his farm without building any permanent structure on the land pending the determination of the suit.
Mr Paul Onota, who is the Counsel to the Otobozi family explained that the ruling forbids anyone who bought a plot of land after the case was instituted in 2020 from developing such land until the matter is determined by the Court.
He also said that by the ruling that nobody should parade himself as the Chairman of the family.
The eldest man of the Otobozi family, elder Stephenson Lerhovwere also warned land speculators and developers to beware of buying any parcel from the Otobozi family land noting that doing so is inviting the wrath of the law.
The case has been adjourned to the 14th of July, 2022 for further hearing.
