Tidi Pays Condolence Visit To Wife Of Late Orosuen Of Okere-urhobo Kingdom

The chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr Michael Tidi on Monday paid a condolence visit to the wife of the late monarch of Okere-Urhobo kingdom, Queen Mary Okumagba.

Tidi, who visited the Queen of Okere-Urhobo alongside his Vice, Mrs Ann Divine Iniovosa and his Executive members, Eulogized the sterling qualities of late Emmanuel Ono Okumagba 11, the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo kingdom.

Tidi while speaking during the visit, said the late monarch of Okere-Urhobo kingdom was his father, adviser and confidant when he was alive, adding that the late monarch was a great believer in the unification of Warri.

He employed the Queen of Okere-Urhobo kingdom to remain strong for those who her husband has left behind.

The Warri South Local Government chairman, said as the Queen, the people of Okere-Urhobo kingdom will still come to her for advice from time to time.

He promised to stand with the family at all times.

“Truly, we have lost a great man. The Warri, Uvwie and Environs Development Agency we are seeing today is the brain child of the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom. I remember, during the maiden town hall meeting of the His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State. It was there that his majesty stood up and complained about the flooding of Warri.

“We are here to say sorry and to commensurate with you. His Royal Highness lived a good life for the little time he was in the throne. He ensured there was peace in Warri Kingdom.

“The late Monarch did this land so much good that I can only pray that God recompense his soul.

“I want you to let you know that the council, and perceptive Waffarians – I am saying perceptive Waffarians, because there are some people who don’t want peace in Warri – we are united with you. We are here to implore your to seek solace in God’s word,” Tidi said.

Responding, the Queen of Okere-Urhobo kingdom thanked the Warri South Local Government chairman for the visit, saying that the chairman has proven that he was not just a political friend, but a true friend indeed.

Earlier, Rev Canon David Otofia, who responded on behalf of the family commended Tidi, most especially his Vice, and his Executive members, for the visit, saying that Okere-Urhobo kingdom will not forget this show of love.

“We are indeed very grateful with this your gesture. This gesture has shown us that you remember you personal relationship with our father that had gone to a very long journey.

*Your words of encouragement gladdens oir heart and we believe that as a man of your words, you are going to stand by us just as you have said,” Rev Otofia said.
