Obibi Promises Inclusive Leadership As He Declares for 2027 Assembly Race Under NDC
A former Deputy Leader of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. Efeoghogho Obibi, has formally declared his intention to contest for the Delta State House of Assembly seat representing Isoko North Constituency in the 2027 general elections under the platform of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Obibi made the declaration yesterday at his residence while addressing political associates, supporters and loyalists drawn from different parts of the constituency.
In his address, the former council leader said the time had come for a new political direction in Isoko North, stressing that the people could no longer continue with what he described as “recycled leadership and unfulfilled promises.”
He said his decision to join the race was driven by his resolve to change the political narrative in the constituency and offer purposeful representation focused on the welfare and development of the people.
According to him, the people of Isoko North deserve transparent, accountable and people-oriented leadership capable of addressing the growing concerns of unemployment, poor infrastructure, youth empowerment and grassroots development.
Obibi maintained that the era of politics without visible impact must come to an end, insisting that leaders seeking public office must be ready to serve the people with sincerity, courage and commitment.
He assured his supporters that his ambition was rooted in service, inclusiveness and the desire to restore confidence in leadership at the grassroots level.
The former deputy leader also called on youths, women and stakeholders across the constituency to unite in support of what he described as a collective movement aimed at repositioning Isoko North for greater development and political relevance.
Political observers in the area believe Obibi’s entry into the race may reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections, especially with growing calls for fresh faces and alternative leadership in the constituency.
