Eid-el-Fitri: Rep. Ukodhiko rejoices with Muslims, calls for unity, tolerance
Member representing Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, on Tuesday, joined Muslims in celebrating this year’s Eid-el-Fitr ceremony, marking the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
Rep. Ukodhiko, in a goodwill message by his Media Assistant, Ajiri-Oghen Oreh, to the Muslim community, called on Nigerians embrace peace and live in unity for the growth and development of the country.
The House of Representatives member commended the Muslim community in Isoko Federal Constituency, Delta State and Nigeria at large for their prayers and sacrifices during the Ramadan fast.
Hon. Ukodhiko, who is the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology stressed on the need for Muslim faithfuls in the country to celebrate the Eid with kindness and moderation.
He said, “On behalf of the people of Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency of Delta State, I felicitate with the Muslim community on this year’s Eid-el-fitr celebration.
“As we celebrate, I enjoin you all to imbibe the teachings in the Holy Qu’ran and, be exemplars of the sterling qualities of Prophet Mohammed.
“Yes, i must urge, that, you demonstrate piety, love, compassion, and promote brotherliness with your Christain brothers and sisters, be selfless, having the spirit of forgiveness in your daily activities.
“Very importantly, we must as Nigerians completely embrace unity and be tolerant in order for us to improve and achieve sustainable peace and progress in the country.”
The Isoko Federal lawmaker enjoined religious leaders in the country to always preach the messages and gospel of peace, unity, tolerance to their adherents and faithfuls.
“While putting more efforts towards interfaith dialogue, also in order to bridge the communication gap between faithfuls of the two religions in our country, Nigeria.
“I want to seize this opportunity to assure the people of Isoko North and Isoko South Federal Constituency of my commitment to effective legislative service delivery and dividends of democracy.” Ukodhiko stated.
