DESPSOMET Visits PDP Chairman, Pledges Continued Support for Party’s Progress

Asaba, Delta State – On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, members of the Delta State PDP Social Media Team (DESPSOMET), led by their state coordinator, Comrade Wilson Junior, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Delta People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Solomon Areyenka, and his executive working c’ttee..

In his address, Comrade Wilson Junior expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with the PDP leadership and extended congratulations to Chief Areyenka and the entire executive team for their successful victory at the recent party congress. He emphasized that their emergence as the new leadership was a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to the party’s progress.

“We are here today to formally identify with you as the most decorated State PDP Chairman. Your leadership has been a source of inspiration to us, and we have full confidence in your ability to lead the party to greater heights,” said Comrade Junior.

He further highlighted the pivotal role that DESPSOMET has played in supporting the PDP’s activities, policies, and government initiatives over the past nine years. Describing the team as a dynamic and formidable media force, Comrade Junior assured the Chairman of DESPSOMET’s continued commitment to promoting the works and achievements of the Delta State Government, as well as the party’s efforts at the grassroots level.

“We are here to pledge our unwavering allegiance to the party. Our team operates across all local government areas of Delta State, and we are committed to executing all directives related to the party’s activities and programs,” Comrade Junior stated.

As part of the team’s request, Comrade Junior sought the Chairman’s approval to secure a designated operational office within the State PDP Secretariat in Asaba. He emphasized that such a space would enhance DESPSOMET’s ability to coordinate their activities effectively for the benefit of the party.

In his response, Chief Hon. Solomon Areyenka welcomed the group and expressed his admiration for the work they have done. He acknowledged the media team’s contributions to the party’s success and pledged to continue supporting their efforts. He reassured them that their request for an operational office would be addressed.

Chief Areyenka also discussed the importance of unity within the party, stressing that the political challenges faced by the state require a strategic, intelligent approach rather than confrontational tactics. He called on members of the party to remain focused on building from the grassroots level and ensuring that their efforts would strengthen the foundation of the party across the state.

Regarding recent defections, it’s important to understand that these individuals have already made their decisions long ago. Their actions are simply formalizing what was done in the past. Our focus should remain on strengthening our party, and I am confident that, with the strength of your group, we will continue to thrive.

“We cannot afford to be distracted by the actions of others,” he said, referencing recent defections. “Our priority is to strengthen our party and build a strong foundation for the future. Let’s stay united and keep pressing forward.”

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to working together to advance the vision of the Delta State PDP and contribute to the success of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda administration.
