Chichah Appeals To Oborevwori For Approval of Okwagbe–Ighwre Ogun Road Project, Commends His Developmental Strides.
By Henry Ubus.
The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor of Delta State on Community Development, Bishop Dr. Isaac Chichah, has appealed to the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, to approve and award the construction of the Okwagbe–Otutuama–Esaba–Ophirigbala–Ighwre Ogun Road project in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
Bishop Chichah made the appeal while commending Governor Oborevwori for the ongoing infrastructural transformation across the state under the MORE Agenda. He specifically lauded the administration’s commitment to road construction, urban renewal projects, and the development of critical infrastructure, including flyovers and other strategic roads aimed at improving connectivity and economic growth.
According to him, the proposed road project is of immense importance to the people of Okwagbe, Otutuama, Esaba, Ophirigbala and Ighwre Ogun communities, whose economic activities have suffered significantly over the years due to the deplorable condition of the road network.
He noted that the poor state of the roads has hindered the movement of people, agricultural produce and goods, thereby affecting commerce and socio-economic development in the affected communities.
The SSA urged Governor Oborevwori to extend the ongoing infrastructure development drive from Ukodo to the listed communities, stressing that the project would open up the area for greater economic opportunities and improve the living conditions of residents.
Bishop Chichah expressed confidence in the Governor’s commitment to equitable development across all parts of the state, adding that the people of Ughelli South remain appreciative of the administration’s achievements and developmental initiatives.
He further assured the Governor of the continued support and loyalty of the people, stating that residents of the area would continue to stand behind the administration in recognition of its efforts toward improving the welfare of Deltans.
The community development advocate emphasized that the approval and execution of the road project would not only address long-standing transportation challenges but also stimulate economic growth, enhance access to social services, and strengthen rural development within the affected communities.
