Congratulations to Festus Keyamo, a brave voice for Buhari, Tinubu.
Warriors either as members of the Armed Forces of any Nation, or as Community Vigilante or as Political Communicators are wired for honour and recognition in same societies, and transparent political systems.
My brother and illustrious son of Urhobo Nation, a legal icon and prime time Spokespersons for APC Presidential campaign in the just concluded Presidential election was not kind and will never be kind to President Mohammadu Buhari and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s tradducers.
Keyamo obviously broke the backbones of President Buhari and Tinubu’s detractors in the media space, and he delivered, just like Olorogun Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, did for his Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, and the governorship candidate, as he then was, Rt Hon Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, JP, now Executive Governor of Delta State.
While Delta PDP, political musketeers and their scheming class criticized Latimore for being too hard on PDP and the governor’s detractors, and therefore not fit and proper to be appointed either as Commissioner or Special Adviser, the APC and Mr President finds it Honourable to honour and appoint their dogged campaign spokesperson, Festus Keyamo, SAN, as Honourable Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This is it, honour your warriors and those who keep the media space safe for good governance in your party and jurisdictions. It is just and proper to so do!
Those persecuting Olorogun Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, for their selfish interests within Delta State political system should learn from the APC and their political leaders. It’s not to late to learn. There is nothing wrong immitating what is good and equitable.
The immediate past Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Madam Lauretta Onochie, is another media warrior who will never be kind to APC and Mr President’s detractors. She was recognized and celebrated by her party, APC, and leaders.
Olorogun Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, was dogged for APC, President Buhari and the then governorship candidate of APC in Delta State in 2015/2016, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, OON, and he was recognized and honoured with presidential nomination as Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, Zaria. He rejected the offer to stay with Gov Ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP in 2017 till date. The rest is now history. They never allowed Latimore to grow beyond EA Communications. What a pity!
Delta PDP dogged political communicators are only recognized, appreciated and celebrated during electioneering campaigns and dumped thereafter. There is the need for a paradigm shift from ungratefulness to open display of gratitude and appreciation via juicy political appointments for those who keep the media space safe in Delta State. It’s not too late to do the needful.
I congratulate and celebrate a great Deltan, an illustrious son of Urhobo Nation and legal icon, Festus Keyamo, SAN, on your well deserved appointment as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for the second time. Your appointment clearly demonstrates that loyalty and hard work pays, that those who defend their party and principals in the media space are Honourable people, not irresponsible folks.
I am proud to be a chieftain of the PDP, am proud to be associated with the M.O.R.E agenda of the Oborevwori administration in Delta State.
I am also very proud of the roles I played in the just concluded 2023 governorship election in Delta State, and I will continue to support the idea and notion of Advancing Delta. Let’s recognize capacity, uncommon loyalty and doggedness in PDP and the political system in the state.
Kudos to Festus Keyamo, SAN.
