Poly Rector, Ufuophu-Biri, Expresses Support For Okowa Entrepreneurship Development In Delta

The Rector of the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, has reiterated his commitment to continue to support the entrepreneurship development of the governor of Delta State and Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa.

Ufuophu-Biri who made this known when the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, visited the school to monitor the Business Pitching exercise for beneficiaries of the Delta State Tertiary Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP).

In his speech during the visit, Ufuophu-Biri welcomed the commissioner to the school and reaffirmed his administration’s total support to the governor of the state and his national aspiration.

According to him, “the polytechnic is doing everything possible to support the entrepreneurship development drive of the governor and has put in place an Entrepreneurship Academic Exchange Programme with different institutions in South Africa.”

On his part, Hon Egwunyenga, who was accompanied by the Director of Youth Enterprise and other staff of the Ministry of Youth, stated that he was in the polytechnic to monitor the Business Pitching exercise for beneficiaries of the Delta State Tertiary Entrepreneurship Programme (TEP).

He noted that the Programme, which is one of the wealth and job creation agenda of Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa Administration was tailored to equip undergraduates to become entrepreneurs and employers of labour while in school.

He pointer out that participants for the exercise, which cut across state owned tertiary Institutions, had gone through Entrepreneurship Development Class, Bootcamp, Internship and at the last stage of pitching and presentation of their business plans.

The commissioner also used the opportunity to speak on the goodwill of Governor Okowa administrative acumen in managing a multi-ethnic state like Delta which is a miniature of Nigeria.

He explained further that with the experience the governor had gathered, the Atiku/Okowa ticket remained the best to rescue Nigeria.

He appealed to the management of the polytechnic to accord the governor necessary supports.
