The Work Must Continue’: Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu Set to Declare Second Term Bid May 14

The political atmosphere in Ethiope Federal Constituency is charging up as the incumbent representative and Chairman of the House Committee on NDDC, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, officially announces her intention to seek a second term in the House of Representatives.

In a statement released to the public, the lawmaker invited constituents from Ethiope East and West to a “Grand Re-Election Declaration” scheduled for Thursday, 14th May 2026, at the Oghara Township Stadium.
Reflecting on her current tenure, Ibori-Suenu described her time in Abuja as a mission defined by service and results.

She emphasized that her office has been a vocal advocate for the interests of the Ethiope people, ensuring the constituency remains a priority in national developmental discourse.

“The journey we started together is one of service, representation, and results,” the lawmaker stated. “By your mandate, we have taken your voice to Abuja… and ensured Ethiope East and West are not left behind in the decisions that shape our future.”

While highlighting the milestones achieved so far, particularly her influential role leading the NDDC committee, the lawmaker noted that “the work is far from over.” She framed her re-election bid as a necessary step to “consolidate progress” and bring more federal presence back home.

The event, which kicks off at 12:00 Noon, is expected to draw a massive crowd of party faithful, community leaders, and supporters. Ibori-Suenu urged families and neighbors to attend in unity, noting that a large turnout would send a “stronger statement” regarding the constituency’s collective future.

The declaration is expected to set the tone for the upcoming primary season, as Ibori-Suenu looks to leverage her “Together, we move forward” mantra to secure a renewed mandate.
