AAU Lecturer’s Family Denies Sexual Relationship Claim, Alleges He Was Murdered
By Henry Ubus
The family of Dr. Uwuigbe, a lecturer in the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Science at Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, has dismissed reports alleging that the deceased was involved in a sexual relationship with a girl before his death, describing the claims as false and misleading.
The family made its position known in a statement signed by Barr. Etinosa Odemwingie on its behalf, rejecting the allegations circulating over the circumstances surrounding the lecturer’s death.
According to the statement, the family disputed the reports linking the deceased to the alleged sexual relationship, insisting that the claims did not accurately represent the circumstances surrounding his death.
The family further alleged that Dr. Uwuigbe’s death was a case of murder, adding that the circumstances surrounding the incident were currently under police investigation.
It called attention to the ongoing investigation, which is expected to establish the facts surrounding the lecturer’s death.
The family’s statement comes amid reports surrounding the incident, as the police investigation continues to determine what transpired before the lecturer’s death.
As of the time of this report, no findings from the ongoing police investigation had been provided in the information available. The family’s allegation of murder and its denial of the reported sexual relationship remain claims that require independent verification.
