Ayoma Lauds Udu LG Chairman Oyibode, Ughelli South Boss Avweromre for Exemplary Leadership One Year In Office
A prominent Urhobo traditional figure and respected grassroots leader, Chief Freeborn Ayoma Otota, has poured encomiums on the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Area, Hon. (Olorogun) Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode JP FCIA, and his Ughelli South counterpart, Hon. Lucky Avweromre, for what he described as exceptional leadership, transformational projects, and people-centered governance in their first year in office.
Chief Ayoma, who is from Iwhrekreka community and holds multiple chieftaincy titles, including Deputy Director at the Okobaro Royal Palace and Organizing Secretary of the Arhavwarien Traditional Council, made the commendation over the weekend. A former President-General of Iwhrekreka Community and former Secretary of the Uhurie Ruling House, Chief Ayoma described the duo as “God-sent leaders to their respective Local Government Councils” and declared them as “the best performing Council Chairmen in Delta Central Senatorial District.”
He commended Hon. Lucky Arhovwemen for the construction of a wooden bridge in the riverine OMOSUOMOR community in Ughelli South, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that has significantly improved access between two remote neighboring communities. “OMOSUOMOR is almost an hour from Okwagbe Waterside by boat. The bridge was an appeal by the people, and Lucky’s prompt response shows he listens and acts. That’s leadership,” Ayoma said.
Turning to Udu, he praised Hon. Oyibode for executing numerous people-driven projects across the local government area. He also highlighted Oyibode’s inclusive leadership style, which he said transcends party lines and promotes unity across political divides. “Oyibode has done exceedingly well. His unifier attitude is commendable. He’s not just a chairman; he’s a bridge builder,” he said.
Chief Ayoma further commended Oyibode for the recent environmental sanitation exercise that eased traffic congestion around the Udu-ECN Road. He appealed for the extension of such interventions to other traffic-prone areas within the LGA.
He used the opportunity to appeal to Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, to prioritize the rehabilitation of critical roads, including the Udu Express Junction to ECN Road, Mofor to Owhrode Road, Usiefrun Roundabout to Iwhrekreka, and the Otor-Edo access road.
Although Chief Ayoma is currently not affiliated with any political party, he revealed that by November, he would officially declare his political stance and whom he will support, stressing that true leadership must always prioritize the needs of the people.
“Oyibode and Lucky are not just leaders—they are God-sent. Delta Central is blessed to have such men of vision and humility at the helm. If other council bosses emulate their pace, grassroots development in Delta will be unstoppable,” he concluded.
