Udu Youth Leader Kpomah Condemns Police Killing of Udu Son, Demands Speedy Justice.
By FactsReporters
The Chairman of the Udu Communities Youth Leaders Forum (UCYLF) and Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Mobilization, Deacon Kelvin Kpomah, has strongly condemned the gruesome and unlawful killing of an Udu son, Late Mr. Oghenemine Ogidi of Ujevwu Community, popularly known by his stage name, OG Million.
Describing the incident as a tragic violation of human rights and a direct assault on the rule of law, Deacon Kpomah expressed deep concern over the circumstances surrounding the death of the young and upcoming music artist from Udu.
Mr. Ogidi was reportedly killed on April 26, 2026, in Effurun, Delta State, allegedly by ASP Usman Nuhu of the Effurun Area Command under the guise of suspected illegal possession of firearms.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident, Deacon Kpomah commended the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, PSC(+), NPM, for his swift intervention in ordering the trial and immediate dismissal of ASP Usman Nuhu and other officers found culpable in the matter.
He further praised the IGP for approving the recommendations of the investigative process and forwarding same to the Police Service Commission for ratification in line with due process.
According to Kpomah, such decisive action is necessary to restore the confidence and trust Nigerians have lost in the Nigerian Police Force due to repeated cases of misconduct and abuse of power by some officers.
He stressed that justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done, urging the police authorities to ensure that the case is treated with utmost speed, transparency and integrity.
“The unlawful killing of any citizen, especially a promising young talent like OG Million, is unacceptable and must not be swept under the carpet. Justice must prevail, and those responsible must face the full wrath of the law,” he stated.
Deacon Kpomah also appealed to the Inspector-General of Police to give special consideration to the family of the deceased, noting the emotional and economic burden the tragic loss has placed on them.
He called on relevant authorities to ensure adequate support for the bereaved family while the legal process continues.
The UCYLF Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of youth leaders across Udu to continue advocating for justice, fairness, and the protection of the rights of all citizens, while calling for sustained reforms within the Nigeria Police Force to prevent future occurrences of such unfortunate incidents. @Kpomah Kelvin
