Prayers for Nigeria’s Progress: Gov. Oborevwori Stresses Importance of Peace and Security.

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has urged Nigerians to pray for the continued peace, unity, progress and prosperity to reign in the state and country, especially in this trying period.

Governor Oborevwori made the call at the 25th Priestly Ordination Anniversary and Book Presentation of Very Rev Fr. Dr. Christopher Ekabo at Christ the King Catholic Church, Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area of the state.

Fr. Ekabo who is Executive Secretary, Delta State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, was ordained as a Catholic priest in September 1998.

In his goodwill message at the thanksgiving, Governor Oborevwori called on the people to look out for one another and report any act that could lead to breach of peace and security in the state.

While congratulating Very Rev. Fr. Dr Christopher Ekabo on his 25th priestly silver jubilee anniversary, the Governor, said; “you have continued to enjoy the help of God by virtue of undeniable impact and exploits recorded thus far in your ministry.

“I pray that God will multiply His grace and anointing upon your life and make you a greater blessing to God’s people under your care the body of Christ and humanity in general. I encourage you to continue banking on divine help on your priestly assignment.

“To the congregation, friends and well-wishers, I urge you to offer prayers for peace, unity, progress and prosperity to continue to reign in our dear state and country Nigeria, especially in this trying period.

“Government appreciates your goodwill and contributions towards the development of our state as we journey towards the actualisation of the ordained MORE Agenda.

“Furthermore, let us all remain our brother’s keepers as we expose evil machinations and continue supporting the government in our effort to safeguard lives and property in our dear state.”

The Governor had earlier unveiled a book written by Fr Ekabo, titled; “A Presidential Option for the Nigerian marginalised: A Theological Approach”.

In his homily, Very Rev Fr. Dr. Raphael Ogigbah, urged Christians to live a life of obedience to God by living Christ like, adding that God wants all men to be fruitful in all endeavours.
