Oyibode Admonishes Udu Political Class to Align with Oborevwori’s Leadership Ahead of 2027.
As political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Olorogun Hon. Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP, FCIA, has called on the people of Udu and key political stakeholders to remain united and committed to the collective political progress of Udu Kingdom.
Speaking on the evolving political landscape, Oyibode advised Udu indigenes and the political class to consistently align with the leadership direction of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, noting that such cooperation would yield greater developmental benefits for the local government.
The council chairman emphasized the need for unity of purpose, warning against divisive tendencies such as undermining one another or engaging in actions capable of derailing progress. According to him, such negative habits weaken political cohesion and hinder opportunities that could benefit the people of Udu.
He further urged politicians in Udu to take a cue from Lagos State, where clear directives issued by the governor ahead of elections were largely adhered to by party members and stakeholders, resulting in a more coordinated political process.
Oyibode also cautioned against the practice of some individuals allegedly traveling to Asaba or making calls with the intent to tarnish the image of others, describing such actions as counterproductive and harmful to the unity and reputation of Udu.
He advised those involved in spreading unverified or misleading information to desist, stressing the importance of confirming facts before making public statements and avoiding the dissemination of unfounded claims.
Speaking further, Oyibode maintained that his actions whether political or traditional have been well considered and justified, adding that he has no regrets about them.
He also urged stakeholders to exercise restraint and discretion in handling sensitive matters, noting that unnecessary exposure of internal issues could undermine collective interests.
Oyibode stressed that internal conflicts have never favored the people of Udu but instead hinder development, adding that persistent infighting has set the area backward over time.
He therefore called on all stakeholders to rise above personal ambitions and prioritize the overall interest of Udu people. He maintained that sustained collaboration, mutual respect, and a shared vision for development remain key to achieving meaningful progress as the 2027 elections approach.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering unity and ensuring that Udu continues to benefit from its relationship with the state government.
He urged Udu people to remain loyal and supportive of the state leadership, noting that leadership is a matter of time and circumstance, and must be respected.
