Pastor Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, has felicitated with the people of Isoko North and South Federal Constituency and Nigerians at home and in the diaspora on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day celebration, describing the day as a significant moment to reflect on Nigeria’s democratic journey and honour the sacrifices of those who fought for the entrenchment of democratic governance in the country.
In his Democracy Day message, Rep. Ukodhiko noted that June 12 occupies a unique place in Nigeria’s history, symbolising the resilience, courage, and aspirations of citizens who have remained steadfast in their belief in democracy and the power of the people’s voice.
He stated that Democracy Day provides an opportunity not only to celebrate the progress recorded in Nigeria’s democratic experience but also to renew the collective commitment of leaders and citizens to strengthening democratic institutions, upholding the rule of law, promoting accountability, and advancing sustainable national development.
The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and other leaders across the country for their efforts toward deepening democratic governance, expanding infrastructure, and fostering economic growth and national cohesion.
