Delta APC Dismisses Omo-Agege’s Allegations, Insists Claims Are False

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed allegations made by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and his media team, describing them as false, misleading and a desperate attempt to rewrite the facts surrounding recent political incidents in the state.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., the APC said Senator Omo-Agege’s response to its earlier statement of July 29, 2026, failed to address the issues raised and instead relied on what it described as “recycled falsehoods, conspiracy theories and attempts to create a false narrative of insecurity in Delta State.”

The party maintained that the statement issued by the Commissioner for Works and Public Information, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, condemning the attack on Mr. Temple Mudi and calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible, clearly disproved allegations that the APC or the Delta State Government orchestrated the attack.

According to the APC, it would be illogical for a government allegedly involved in such an incident to publicly direct security agencies to identify, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators.

The party also rejected Senator Omo-Agege’s claim that an APC leaders’ meeting held at the PTI Conference Centre, Effurun, on July 28 was violently disrupted by hoodlums. It insisted that live broadcasts by Arise Television and TVC News showed that the meeting continued uninterrupted and was successfully concluded despite the isolated attack on Mr. Temple Mudi.

The APC further described as baseless allegations linking the party to the alleged attack on the New Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate, Deacon Chris Iyovwaye, during his visit to Aghalokpe Community. It challenged Senator Omo-Agege and the NDC to produce credible evidence linking any APC member to the alleged incident.

On claims that the APC was planning a coordinated campaign of violence ahead of the 2027 general elections, the party described the allegation as “the mother of all lies,” arguing that if such evidence truly existed, it should have been submitted to the Commissioner of Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Inspector-General of Police and other relevant security agencies for investigation.

The APC accused Senator Omo-Agege and the NDC of attempting to create excuses ahead of the 2027 elections by making what it called unfounded allegations of political violence.

The party also denied allegations that it opposed investigations into recent incidents, noting that in its statement of July 29, it had expressly called on the Commissioner of Police, the DSS and other security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation.

Reaffirming its confidence in the security situation in Delta State, the APC stated that the state continues to enjoy relative peace under the administration of Governor Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, adding that the government has consistently supported security agencies in combating crime and ensuring public safety.

The party urged Senator Omo-Agege and the NDC to refrain from what it described as the politics of falsehood and fear-mongering, and instead allow security agencies to carry out impartial investigations into all allegations without political interference.
