Asiuwhu Registers With APC, Lauds Oborevwori’s Impactful Projects

Uduophori, Patani LGA — The Chairman of the Delta State Taskforce on Environment, Chief Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu JP, on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, made a bold political move as he formally registered and obtained his membership card of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the party secretariat in Uduophori Ward 9, Patani Local Government Area of Delta State.

Chief Asiuwhu, who led the collapse of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) structure in the ward, was accompanied by several former PDP stakeholders and supporters, marking a significant shift in the local political landscape. The event was witnessed by enthusiastic APC executives, party leaders, and teeming supporters who welcomed the defection with great excitement.

Speaking at the event, Chief Asiuwhu commended the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Dr. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori JP, for what he described as “visible and impactful developmental strides” recorded across the state within just two years in office.

According to him, Governor Oborevwori’s alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” is a further testament to his political foresight and leadership dexterity in delivering the dividends of democracy to Deltans.

“His Excellency’s commitment to peace, progress and people-oriented governance is laudable. His ability to key into the agenda of the federal government reflects not weakness, but strength, vision, and an unwavering resolve to prioritize the collective interests of the state,” Asiuwhu noted.

The respected grassroots leader stated that the decision to defect was a collective one, endorsed by major stakeholders, and driven by the need to align Delta State with the government at the center for the ultimate benefit of the people.

“Any visionary leader who truly cares for his people must recognize the gains in unity of purpose and constructive alignment. We believe this move will open doors of progress and opportunity for our communities.”

Chief Asiuwhu called on APC members and Deltans at large to work in unity, stressing that politics should not divide the people.

“We were one people before politics. Let us now come together as one again for the development of our state and the well-being of our communities,” he added.

The registration of Chief Asiuwhu and the defection of the entire PDP structure in Uduophori Ward 9 is seen as a major boost to the APC in Delta State ahead of future political contests.

At the end, Hon. Prince C. Ikpama, on behalf of the APC leadership, wholeheartedly welcome Chief Asiuwhu and his political family and sued for a united front.
