Isoko North Political Leaders, Led by Ukodhiko, Pay Tribute to Late Efenudu

Member representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, on Sunday, led a delegation of Isoko North political class to commiserate with the Efenudu family over the passing of their patriarch, Sir Simeon Efenudu, a former Secretary to Delta State Government.

The late Simeon Efenudu who hailed from Ekreze quarters of Otor-Owhe Community in Isoko North Local Government Area, was a onetime Head of the Delta State Civil Service. He died in the early hours of Friday 13th December 2024 after a brief illness.

Condoling the wife, Mrs. Oke Efenudu, children and relatives, the House of Representatives member expressed shock over the demise of the octogenarian.

According to Hon. Ukodhiko, the late Secretary to Delta State Government was both a father and a leader in Isoko North Local Government Area.

The Isoko lawmaker hailed Sir Efenudu for his enormous contributions to the Peoples Democratic Party, as Chairmam of the Delta South Chapter, and chairman of the party’s Advisory Council in Isoko North.

In his words, “We heard about what happened, the demise of our revered leader. What gives us joy is the fact that our father was a devout Christian and his children are alive and healthy.

“To you our mother, please, stay strong. We know it is not easy for you at the moment; one who has been with you for a very long time passed on. It’s very painful. We will pray to God to give you, the children and family, the strength to carry on.

“Papa Simeon Efenudu, no doubt lived a good life. We will keep praying for you all, and also pray for the repose of his soul to find eternal rest.

“On behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party and our people we express our heartfelt condolences. I have informed our leader and Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori of the demise of Papa, Sir (Barr.) Simeon Efenudu, and soon, he will reach out to you all and there will be visits.” Hon. Ukodhiko said.

The Chairman, Isoko North Local Government Council, Elder Godwin Ogorugba, while addressing the family, also reeled out the achievements and contributions of the former Sole Administrator of the Area Council.

Responding on behalf of the children, Mrs Oghenero Efenudu-Egbure, thanked the Isoko North PDP leadership led by Rt. Hon Ukodhiko for the visit and promised to inform the party of the funeral activities.

Among those who accompanied the House of Representatives member were the State Health Commissioner, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, Chairman, Isoko North Council, Elder Godwin Ogorugba, Chairman, PDP, Isoko North Chapter, Hon. Bernard Idisi, Chairman, Delta State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Paul Oweh, former Isoko North Council Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Edevor, former Chairman, PDP, Isoko North, Hon. Daniel Tutumor, party chieftain, Chief Peter Odunwa, members of Isoko North Legislative Arm led by the leader, Hon. Pascal Emeluaha, Aides to Governor Oborevwori, Supervisors, party executives.
