Delta 2027: Ibori-Suenu Sweeps Ethiope Wards in Unanimous APC Affirmation Vote

The incumbent lawmaker representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, has officially emerged as the flagbearer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The lawmaker was returned unopposed on Saturday following a peaceful affirmation process across all electoral wards in both Ethiope East and Ethiope West Local Government Areas.

The APC Returning Officer and Commissioner for Special Duties Government House, Dr. Ifeanyi Osuoza, announced the official results, declaring that Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu secured over 17,000 affirmation votes from registered party members.

Thousands of enthusiastic party faithful trooped out early to their respective ward offices to participate in the process. The exercise was fully monitored and certified by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The smooth primary election highlights Ibori-Suenu’s strengthening grip on the constituency since her high-profile defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

The lawmaker, who is the daughter of the former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, has leveraged her political footprint to unite local factions under the ruling party’s banner.

In her victory speech, she expressed deep gratitude to her constituents for their unwavering trust and vowed to maximize her legislative impact during her next term.

Notably, she made a strong pitch for political stability by urging her supporters to rally behind the federal administration of President Bola Tinubu, while also backing the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and all APC candidates heading into the 2027 polls.

“I am deeply honored by this seamless affirmation,” Ibori-Suenu stated. “I will continue to work assiduously to justify the immense confidence you have reposed in me. I promise never to disappoint you.”
