Ukodhiko Launches Agribusiness Empowerment Scheme For Isoko Farmers

In a bid to further promote sustainable agricultural development and economic empowerment in Isoko land, Hon. Pastor Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, Member Representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, has announced a new empowerment programme tailored specifically for constituents engaged in agribusiness — particularly in the areas of fishery and piggery.

The initiative, which is being organized in collaboration with the Federal Co-operative College, Orji River, and Kinging Logistics and Automobiles Ltd., is designed to retrain, retool, and resource local farmers to enhance productivity, profitability, and sustainability in their operations.

Speaking from Abuja, Hon. Ukodhiko extended warm greetings to his constituents and expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative. According to him, the training will focus on modern techniques in fish farming and piggery management, alongside practical agribusiness coaching aimed at turning small- and medium-scale agricultural ventures into viable income-generating enterprises.

Programme Highlights include:

Retraining in modern fish farming methods

Practical coaching in piggery management and agribusiness operations

Provision of startup inputs for selected fishery participants

Financial grants to support existing pig farmers

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Must be an indigene or resident of Isoko North or South Federal Constituency
  2. Should demonstrate a strong passion for agribusiness
  3. Must be actively involved in small- or medium-scale fish or pig farming
  4. Must own or have access to existing farm infrastructure
  5. Should be willing to participate fully in the training sessions

Application Guidelines: Interested participants are required to express their interest by posting in the designated comment section. Each entry should include:

A contact phone number

A recent photo (not taken on the day of application) showing the applicant at work on their fish farm or pigsty

Important Information:

The programme is limited to 10 slots only — 5 for fishery and 5 for piggery

Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis

All submitted information will undergo verification prior to final selection

Hon. Ukodhiko assured the constituents that the selection process will be transparent and fair, urging interested and eligible individuals to seize this golden opportunity to transform their agribusiness operations.
