Ukodhiko Reaffirms Commitment To Education, Human Capital Development In Isoko

The Member representing Isoko North/Isoko South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Engr. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, has reaffirmed his commitment to education and human capital development as key instruments for expanding opportunities and improving the future prospects of young people across Isoko Nation.

Ukodhiko stated this during a recent interview with Amb. Yole Ogagaoghene on Isoko Nation, where he gave an overview of his educational interventions and other initiatives targeted at strengthening human capital development in his constituency.

The federal lawmaker highlighted several interventions in the education sector, including the construction and furnishing of classroom blocks, provision of school desks, assistance to indigent students for registration for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) and Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examinations, as well as scholarship support for Isoko students pursuing professional courses at Madonna University.

Available reports on the lawmaker’s constituency interventions similarly document the construction of six classrooms at Owodokpokpo Grammar School, Igbide, a four-classroom block and staff room at Udueni Grammar School, Olomoro, and the distribution of desks to schools across the constituency. His education programme has also included sponsorship and CBT preparation support for JAMB candidates.

Of particular significance is the scholarship programme under which ten Isoko students have received full-tuition support to study professional courses including Medicine, Law, Engineering and Pharmacy at Madonna University.

Speaking on the beneficiaries, Ukodhiko expressed satisfaction with their academic progress, noting that their performances have continued to demonstrate the value of investing in the education and future of young people.

He said the achievements of the beneficiaries have strengthened his confidence that they would successfully complete their programmes and subsequently contribute meaningfully to the development of Isoko Nation and Nigeria.

The lawmaker also acknowledged the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in strengthening the tertiary education system, particularly the Federal Government’s student-loan initiative administered through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which is designed to reduce financial barriers confronting students seeking tertiary education.

Ukodhiko equally commended Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for the state government’s interventions in education, particularly its emphasis on technical education and skills development.

According to him, sustainable development requires deliberate investment in people, stressing that education remains fundamental to equipping young Nigerians with the knowledge, skills and opportunities required to become productive members of society.

Ukodhiko, who has represented the Isoko North/Isoko South constituency in the House since 2023, has continued to identify education, infrastructure, youth development and other constituency interventions among areas of focus.
