Ukodhiko Meets NELFUND MD, Moves To Expand Education Loan Access for Isoko Students.
By factsreporters.com
The Member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Engr. Pastor Ajirioghene J. Ukodhiko, has reaffirmed his commitment to expanding access to education financing for students of Isoko extraction studying in government-owned higher institutions.
Engr. Ukodhiko made this known following a strategic meeting held earlier today in Abuja with the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr.
The meeting focused on practical ways of widening participation in the Federal Government’s education loan scheme, with particular emphasis on students from low-income families across Isoko North and South Federal Constituency.
According to the lawmaker, the initiative is aimed at easing the growing financial burden on parents and guardians who are often compelled to borrow from friends, relatives, or informal lenders in order to fund their children’s education.
He noted that following the success of last year’s intervention, plans are already underway to once again establish temporary registration centres across Isoko North and Isoko South to facilitate seamless enrollment of eligible students into the scheme.
Engr. Ukodhiko stressed that the centres would ensure wider awareness, accessibility, and participation, enabling more students to fully benefit from the education loan programme.
He reiterated that education remains a critical pillar of sustainable development, adding that empowering young people through access to quality education is key to securing a prosperous future for Isoko Nation and Nigeria at large.
The Isoko federal lawmaker commended the management of NELFUND for its commitment to supporting Nigerian students and pledged continued collaboration to ensure no deserving Isoko student is denied higher education due to financial constraints.
