Ughelli Anglican Diocese holds Annual Synod April 27.

The Third Session of the Ninth Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Ughelli, Delta State, has been scheduled to hold from April 27 to May 1, 2024 at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Enerhen, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Diocese, Justice Irikefe Iyasere indicates that the Synod which is the apex legislative body of an Anglican Diocese, shall be presided over by the Bishop of Ughelli Diocese who incidentally is the Archbishop of Bendel Province, His Grace, the Most Revd Cyril OdiborOghene Odutemu as host.
He disclosed that the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori shall be Special Guest of Honour at the synod.
The PRO, who is former Vice Chairman of Udu Local Government Area of the state, added that the theme of the 2024 synod is ‘’You Are Christ’s Ambassador: Believers Heritage and Responsibility’’ as taken from the Book of 2nd Corinthians Chapter 5 verse 20.
Iyasere added further that the synod shall begin with the Joint Boards of the Diocese on Saturday April 27, 2024 in the host Church auditorium.
‘’On Sunday April 28, 2024, the Synod Corporate Service shall hold at the St Luke’s Anglican Church, Enerhen with top government functionaries, Traditional rulers, Captains of Industries, Friends of the Diocese from far and near, opinion leaders etc expected as guests during the service.
‘’On Monday 29th April, 2024, the President of Synod, His Grace, The Most Revd Cyril Odutemu JP shall present his annual Address or charge to the Church and launching of the charge shall follow at the St Luke’s Church Auditorium.
‘’The Synod shall take reports from all the administrative units of the Diocese, Groups, theological schools, AYF, AAPS and other sections of the Church including reports and information from the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion at the end of which, a communiqué shall be issued’’, the statement added.
