Egiegi Community, Udu LGA – As the Local Government Election scheduled for July 13th approaches, a notable political realignment occurred in Udu LGA, with several members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defecting to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). This significant event took place today June 29, 2024, at Egiegi Community, Udu LGA, where the PDP Chairmanship Candidate for Udu LGA, Olorogun Vincent Ogheneruemu Oyibode, JP FCIA, along with other prominent PDP leaders, formally welcomed the new members.

This gathering of former APC supporters marks a crucial turning point as the Local Government Elections draw near.

In his welcoming address, Olorogun Oyibode expressed deep gratitude to the new members, promising them equal opportunities and collective success within the PDP. He highlighted the party’s dedication to inclusivity and unity, emphasizing that the PDP remains open to all who wish to contribute to the state’s progress under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE AGENDA Initiative.

Apostle Charles Ibru Tetebe, speaking on behalf of the new PDP members, attributed their decision to the commendable governance and unifying leadership of Olorogun Oyibode, as well as the transformative achievements of Governor Oborevwori. “We are joining the PDP today because of his impressive political track record,” Tetebe stated. He and the new members vowed steadfast support and expressed optimism that this integration marks the beginning of a broader consolidation within the PDP. They also announced that the entire community has pledged unwavering support for the PDP.

The defection of these former APC members to the PDP underscores Olorogun Oyibode’s pivotal role in fostering unity and progress, signaling a new era of governance in Udu.
