Udoka Advises On Survival Strategies During Kidnapping Incidents

Asaba, Delta State — Engr. Udoka Emmanuel, the Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Security, recently provided critical advice on how to handle kidnapping situations. Speaking during a security awareness seminar, Engr. Emmanuel emphasized the importance of maintaining composure and self-assurance in the face of abduction.

When you are kidnapped, assure yourself that you will certainly come back alive,” Engr. Emmanuel stated, highlighting the psychological strength required during such traumatic events. He explained that the first few minutes following an abduction are the most critical and potentially dangerous period. “At this stage, the kidnappers are also afraid for their lives. Failure on their part means they could be arrested and prosecuted. They are therefore jittery, and any suspicious move by you could make them pull the trigger,” he warned.

The security expert stressed the need for calmness, noting that panic or rash actions could escalate the situation, leading to unintended harm. Engr. Emmanuel’s advice aims to help potential victims understand the mindset of their captors and navigate the situation with a higher chance of survival.

His comments come amid growing concerns over the rising cases of kidnapping in various parts of Nigeria, urging citizens to stay vigilant and informed about safety measures. Engr. Emmanuel’s insights serve as a crucial reminder of the importance of psychological resilience and strategic thinking in life-threatening situations.

He concluded with a call for individuals and communities to engage in more security awareness programs to better equip themselves in the face of such threats.
