NCRC Honours Elder Ala, Others With Meritorious RDN Award At Ughelli

Nigeria Community Research Consortium (NCRC) has honoured Elder (Chief) Dr. Solomon Ala and 10 others with a meritorious ward as a Real Distinguished Nigerian, (RDN) in recognition of their contributions to community and human development in Nigeria on Saturday 11th September, 2021 at Ughelli Kingdom Hall, Ughelli North LGA of Delta State.

Presenting the ward to the Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Political, Deacon Dr. Joe Ohariri, President of the NCRC at the fourth edition of the award ceremony, described Ala as a very humble, transparent, sympathetic, peace loving, God fearing, disciplined devoted Christian whom he said, has being rendering humanitarian services to humanity.

The Associate Professor, Dr. Ohariri, also said that NCRC, the NGO agency was reputed for not being influenced by monetary inducement of given an award to people, he said the Organisation was known and reputed for given an awards to honest and hardworking individuals who acquired their wealth legitimately and used it to assist the needy around them which he said, Elder Ala had rendered financial assistance to widows, aged people, youth empowrement programmes, employer of labour among others within and outside his community as part of his contribution on human and community development, earned him the prestigious award.

Elder Solomon Ala who responded on behalf of the 11 recipient, thanked the organisers of the award, described the award as best that would ever stayed in all his life time, noting: “It’s not money driven, they are very thorough, thorough down to earth in selecting persons because if they have being collecting money, people like us wouldn’t have been qualified at all. So we want to appreciate them that they should do more.

“We assure them that they have anointed us as ambassadors today, we are not going to let them down, we will do our best to maintain the dignity that is attached to this honour”.

Earlier, the Grand Patron of group, HRM Richard Layeguen Ogbon (JP), OON, RDN (Royal Canon) RC, Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom urged recipients to know that they are ambassadors of RDN and they should protect the image of the group while the Chairman of the day, Prof. S.W.O. Ibodje, who was represented by Barrister Ojegba told the recipients to be seeing themselves as a mirror to the group and the society they live in.

Egbi, JP, FoD, AMNSE, Owahwa II (The Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom), HRH Engr. Ibok Jacob Okon, JP ( King of Abia-Edi Autonomous Community, Akwa-Ibom), Rev. Dr. Chichah Isaac, JP ++ (Zonal Coordinator, Church of God Mission Intl., Ughelli), Engr. Ekpetipu, P.E. (Niger Delta Development Commission), Elder (Chief) Dr. Solomon Ala (Senior Special Assistant to Governor of Delta State), Hon.
