Make Urhobo youth interests your priority, Oghenesivbe urges UPU Youth President, Ughere

Spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 general elections in Delta State, Olorogun (Barr) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has urged the new Youth Wing President of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Ambassador Blessed Ughere and his executive members, to always place the interests of Urhobo youth far and above mundane considerations, while working harmoniously with the global parent body.
His appeal was contained in a congratulatory message to Ughere on Saturday, wherein he emphasized the need for UPU youth executive body to abstain from unprovoked verbal or media attacks on constituted authorities; such as the government of the day, Urhobo leaders and stakeholders, so as to create the enabling environment for the consistent articulation and actualization of the sociocultural, economic and other programmes of UPU as enshrined in her constitution.
Oghenesivbe said that the governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, during his state wide electioneering campaigns made it abundantly clear, that his administration shall focus extensively on youth entrepreneurship, skills acquisitions and human capacity development, as well as, get them adequately involved in governance.
He appealed to the new UPU youth wing President, to do everything and anything legitimate within his powers to support the state government and the governor, so as to attract the gains from the laudable objectives of the M.O.R.E agenda to Urhobo youth across the state and beyond.
Oghenesivbe, commended the Chairman of UPU Youth Wing Election Committee, Very Rev Dr. Chris Ekabo, for a job well done by ensuring that the electioneering process was peaceful, transparent, free and fair, noting that the erudite clergy has again displayed uncommon leadership feat, in addition to his prowess as an accomplished Catholic Priest.
“I join Urhobo nation and Deltans to congratulate you, the new President of the Youth Wing of UPU, Ambassador Blessed Ughere, and your newly sworn-in executive members, and to urge you all to place the interests of Urhobo youth and Urhobo nation, far and above self and mundane interests.
“It is your duty and responsibility to work closely with the parent body and the President General of UPU worldwide, to achieve set out goals and objectives, and to adequately represent the multifaceted interests of Urhobo youth worldwide.
“Kindly avoid unprovoked verbal or media attacks on the government of the day, UPU leaders and stakeholders, so as to consistently pave the way for robust engagements with those at the corridors of power at both federal and state levels for the attainment of the Union’s sociocultural, economic and other programmes as enshrined in her constitution.
“Our amiable governor and father of the State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, is a youth friendly leader, and his promise to advance Delta in all ramifications, including the wellbeing of youth, is sacrosanct.
“I urge you, to of a necessity, partner with governor Oborevwori administration and other legitimate authorities worldwide, for the development of Urhobo nation and her youth across jurisdictions.
“I pray God to grant you and your new executive the needed wisdom, leadership skills and humility to serve Urhobo nation without blemish,” Oghenesivbe said.
