Jite Flags-Off Polio Vaccination Campaign In Udu.

In a bid to rid Udu Local Government area of Delta State of the crippling poliomyelitis infection and secure a bright future for Udu Children, the Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council Hon. Chief Jite Brown JP today Tuesday, November 7th, flagged-off the second round of the OBR 2023 campaign for children aged between 0-59 months old.
The flag-off exercise performed by the Udu Council Boss at the Aladja Health Centre in Udu Local Government area of Delta State witnessed a large turnout of nursing mothers with their babies to receive the supplemental dose of the Polio vaccine.
Speaking during the ceremony Hon. Chief Jite said the importance of polio Vaccination cannot be overemphasized. He revealed that it is a fundamental right of every child to grow up healthy and without the fear of this disease. As a community leader, it is our collective responsibility to ensure the well-being of our children and the generations to come. Speaking further, he commended the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (DSPHCDA) and donor agencies for the synergy and dogged commitment to stamp out the menace.
Health promotion officer Udu Primary health care Authority, Mrs. Joy Ekokota while thanking Hon.Jite for his continuous supports, called on mothers to take advantage of the exercise to immunise their uder- five children with the oral polio vaccine. She said that the exercise will commence this Saturday.
Highpoint of the flag-off was the symbolic vaccination of selected children by Executive Chairman of Udu Local Government Council, Udu Council’s Vice Chairman Hon. Barrister Mrs. Eloho Awinoron and others.
