Historic Maiden Udu Kingdom Leadership Summit Held In Udu.

The administrative Organ of Udu Kingdom,in Delta State,, christened, Union of Udu Communities (UUC), ably led by High Chief Godwin Notoma Jefia, with his membership drawn from all Udu Communities,after reviewing the prevailing leadership hiccups in the Kingdom,resolved to put up the summit as a mechesm to nipping the issues in the bud.

The 1000 capacity Hall of the Hotel, was filled to the beem with delegates acrose board.The Chairman of the Organising committee,Com.Excellence Miller, on behalf of the steering committee, warmly welcomed, HE DSP, Sen. Barr. Obarisi . Ovie Omo Agege and his Federal Govt. Crew, Sen.Dr.Arthur Ifeany Okowa,the Executive Governor of Delta State and his entourage, all guests speakers,Paper presenters ,Religious, Political, Economic, Captains of Industries, including all others Sons and Daughters to the maiden leadership Summit of the Kingdom. The erudite publisher of the TREASURES INTERNATIONAL MAGAZINE , assured delegates al ta of a rich Summit.

Declaring the Summit open,the President General of Udu Kingdom,High Chief Godwin Notoma, in his address of welcome, unvailed the necessities that gave birth to the organization of the Summit. The former NBTC boss enlisted some of the issues to include:

(1) Irritional Constitutional Amendment by successive Executives in Udu Communities

(2) Non Completion of Ovie Udu Palace

(3) Litigations/Power Tussles Arising From the Premium Steel and Mine LTD on the Ownership of the Core and Non Core Asets.

(4) The non Alignment of Udu Political, Economic,Traditional, Religious and partisant classes

(5) The Security Challenges ravaging the Kingdom

(6) The attention of the State Government should also be drawn, to the uncompleted state of the Udu Harbour Market, which was approved same time with the Ogbogologo Market in Asaba.

(7) Non compliance of CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIIBILITIES by multi nationals,nationals, Companies,Ferms and others to the hosts Communities and Kingdom in general.
And many other issues.

The crux of their presentations are coined by this reporter as follows:

(a) All Communities in Udu Kingdom should adopt unified and Tenure bound Constitution, to ease effective and administrative convenient.

(b) A passionate appeal was made before the Delta State Governor ,to consider the Udu Harbour Market amongst his priority projects in 2021 Budget.

(c) Our political leaders were impelled to make frantic efforts to meet the three tiers of the present governments, especially the Delta State government, to make case for the urgent need of the tarring of the Orhuwhorun – Owhorode – Erhiephihor – Owhorhokpokpo viz Otor – Udu – Oghior Roads. Other roads in the appeal include; Obubu – Oleri road and Ekrota – Ukperhierhen roads.

(e ) In affirmation, the federal Rail Way commission was appealed with to reconsider the naming of the Train Station in the Kingdom to bear “Udu Kingdom as the host LGA”

(F) Because of the Joint Ownership of the Utorogun Gas plant and with the present development intertwining the two LGAs (Udu and Ughelli South), a joint committee should be constituted to pursue how to make the duo LGAs an industrialized City through generation of Electricity.

(g) The issue of the completion of the Ovie of Udu Palace was also amongst the top burner, as DESOPADEC, NPDC,,NGC,NDDC, Premium Still and Mine LTD and other relevant agencies were appealed to come to our aide.

(h) Indigenes and non indigenes, embarking on farming, should strive hardly to diversify their system of farming from Subsistent to commercial systems of farming. Their cultivations should include Animal husbandry, Plantain plantations,Palm trees plantations,Robber plantations, Potatoe plantations,Fruits gardens and others . This , according to the summit, will elevate the food crises being experienced in this area of Nigeria.

(I) Moreso, the Summit admonished Udu Community leaders to desist from the undescribable sales of lands,as thus will discourage speedy economic advancement in the nearest future.

(j) Udu agreed to work in synergy, sincerity of purpose from one to another. As the rendezvous resolved to be held regularly, to enable leaders from all walks of life in the Kingdom cement plans to advance towards a better future.

(k) Caution was placed on all Multi Nationals,Nationals, Companies and ferms to seat up to thier Social Corprate Responsibilites.

In his assurance,the President General, Urhobo Progress Union World Wide,High Chief Dr. Moses Taiga,ably represented by the First V. President, Chief Dr.Onoharhigho, promised, in alliance with Premium Steel and Mine LTD to organize free training for any Udu Son(s) and Daughters(s) who are willing to be trained in welding and frabrications jobs. As he said, the apex Urhobo ruling organ is everly ready to support any of it subjects requesting for help.The U.P.U. V.Predent further explained the reasons behind the absence of the President General.

In his response,,HE Sen.Dr.Arthur Ifeany Okowa, ably represented by the Chief of Staff Hon. Chief Barr. Festus Ovie Agas, explained the reason for Goveeno’s absence. While assuring Udu that he will channel issues raised to the Delta Govt.and to he who sent him. The Chief of Staff promised to emphasized on the Udu Harbour Market issue.
