GKS Urges Leaders To Allow God’s Spirit Direct Them
By ODEYA OGBETUO
The President of God’s Kingdom Society (GKS), Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun has called on all leaders at all levels to allow the spirit and wisdom of God to direct them as that will lead them to promote peace and economic abundance and to avoid strife, chaos and misery.
In his address titled: ‘Let Him That Thinketh He Standeth, Take Heed Lest He Fall’ during the 2024 Freedom Day Divine Service in Commemoration of Christ Birth Anniversary at Salem City (GKS Headquarters), Warri, Delta State, the GKS president said that when one lacks the fear of God, there will be tendency to compromise and become easy tools at the instance of the devil, adding that leaders should not be carried away as to feel they are too righteous to make mistakes, rather they should be impartial, stand on the truth, show selfless exemplary leadership, promote peace, equal opportunity and avoid economic exploitation of the masses.
Brother Adedokun further said that whatever status, endowment or ability we have it should be used to do the will of God anytime anywhere to the benefit of humanity.
According to him “One of the tools with which the devil brings down individuals with potentials, both in ecclesiastical and secular spheres, is pride. It is an unreasonable overestimation of one’s superiority over others, especially in terms of talent, beauty, acquisition or attainment in life. Pride pushes one into presumptuousness, nursing of inordinate ambitions, which, if not met, causes disappointment, despondency, and the tendency to backslide from the worship of God.”
He stated that the devil is still alive, going about seeking who to deceive, mislead and destroy, stressing that the Holy Bible severally gives admonitions and warning against it.
“For if a man thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. If any speak, let him speak as the oracle of God, if any man minister, let him do it as the ability which God giveth: that God in all things be glorified through Jesus Christ. The fear of God imbues us with reverence for God and enables us to run away from anything evil in His sight. We should shun every tendency to make us backslide from the path of truth and righteousness.”
The GKS president affirmed that as true Christians, we must not, by God’s grace give in to the devilish inclinations and evil propensities which lead to compromises and defilements, adding that these made many professed Christians to fall by the wayside, stressing that we must adhere strictly to the ordinances of God so as to remain in His way until the end.
The GKS president who quoted several bible passages said that our Lord Jesus Christ died for the redemption of our sins and admonished GKS members to continually exercise strong faith in God so that they could escape the deceits of the devil and his agents and should rise above the lust and temptations of the world, just as they were assured that faith would provide them the strength to withstand the storms and trials that may come their way.
The sermon “Was Christ Born on Christmas Day?” was delivered by Brother Andrew Ekireghwo who took an in-depth look into the history of the birth of Christ and concluded that Christ was born in October, stressing that the world (people) has begun to know the truth and many are embracing the truth.
