Elvis Akpobi Advocates for Youth Empowerment on Channels BEAM
Today’s episode of Channels Television’s BEAM featured Elvis Akpobi, a youth advocate, Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mentoring and Development to the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and a renowned social developer. Akpobi delivered insightful remarks on the theme, “Repositioning Nigerian Youths for Success Through Social Innovation and Change Initiatives.”
During the program, Akpobi emphasized the critical need for youth empowerment, describing it as a cornerstone for sustainable development in Nigeria. He highlighted the importance of social innovation and creative change initiatives in addressing the challenges faced by Nigerian youths, including unemployment, skill gaps, and lack of mentorship opportunities.
“Repositioning Nigerian youths requires strategic investments in education, entrepreneurial development, and mentorship. Social innovation plays a key role in unlocking their potential and creating pathways for success,” Akpobi stated.
He also commended the efforts of the Delta State Government under Governor Oborevwori’s administration for prioritizing youth development through tailored programs and policies aimed at equipping young people with skills to thrive in a competitive world.
Akpobi further called on policymakers, corporate organizations, and civil society to collaborate in fostering an environment conducive to innovation and inclusive growth for the younger generation.
