Dr. Maurice Ojoede Accompanies Aviation Minister to Historic Enugu Airport Concession Handover.

The Executive Assistant on Political Affairs to the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Maurice Ojoede, on Friday accompanied the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to the official handover ceremony of Akanu Ibiam International Airport to Aero Alliance Limited under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.

The event marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s aviation sector, as it represents the first successful concession of a Nigerian airport in more than two decades. The initiative is aimed at enhancing airport management through private-sector participation while improving operational efficiency, infrastructure, and service delivery.

The concession aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes infrastructure renewal, economic growth, and increased private-sector investment in critical national assets.

Speaking at the event, stakeholders described the concession as a transformative step that is expected to stimulate massive infrastructure development, create employment opportunities, strengthen cargo and logistics operations, and position Enugu as a leading aviation and commercial hub in West Africa.

Dr. Ojoede’s presence at the ceremony underscored the Delta State Government’s continued support for strategic national development initiatives capable of driving economic expansion and improving connectivity across the country.

The successful handover of the airport to Aero Alliance Limited is widely regarded as a landmark achievement for Nigeria’s aviation industry and a bold step toward building a more competitive, efficient, and globally connected air transport system.
