Don’t Spend Beyond Your Earnings,” Urhobo Palace Oil and Gas Chairman Advises.
By Henry Ubus.
The Chairman of the Urhobo Nation Palace Representatives on Oil and Gas has urged Nigerians, particularly youths, to embrace financial discipline and adopt a lifestyle that aligns with their earnings in order to secure a better future.
The advice was contained in a message he shared on his social media platforms, where he emphasized the importance of balancing present enjoyment with long-term goals.
According to him, individuals must avoid the pressure of living beyond their means, warning that reckless spending habits often lead to future hardship.
“Balance your present joy with your future goals. If you don’t earn like them, don’t spend like them. Live within your means today, so you won’t live beneath your dreams tomorrow,” he stated.
He stressed that prudent financial management, savings culture, and careful planning remain key to achieving stability and long-term success.
The palace representative further noted that discipline in spending not only ensures personal growth but also helps families and communities build sustainable economic strength.
Observers say the message comes at a time when rising living costs and social pressure have pushed many young people into unhealthy financial lifestyles.
