DELTA COMMISSIONER TASKS STAFF ON CREATIVITY AND INNOVATIONS
The Delta State Hon. Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Jamani Tommy Ejiro has charged the staff of the ministry to be creative and innovative in the discharge of their assigned duties, assuring them of his determination to bring positive changes in the running of the ministry.
Mr. Jamani gave the charge on Monday when he had an interactive section with the staff and corp members serving in the Ministry. This meeting was intended to familiarize with the staff, feel their impulse and get briefing on the state of affairs in the ministry.
In his address to the staff, He charged them to sit up and become more effective with their jobs nothing that laying around during work hours will not be tolerated under him. He also frowned at the late coming of some staff which he has observed from some departments. He However declared that he craves a ministry driven by innovation and creativity hence he will appeal that the traditional top-to-botton approach to administration employed in civil service should be adjusted to bottom-top approach to allow junior staff to come up to their superiors with smart and creative ideas that can move the ministry forward.
While assuring the staff of the Governor Oborevwori’s administration commitment to prioritize workers welfare in the state, he declared that he will be organizing a vision alignment training for the staff to help them adjust to his modus operandi and help them key effectively into the MORE agenda of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Francis Orowhedor Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State. He also announced the setting-up of an inter-departmental committee comprising all the departmental heads with The Permanent Secretary as the Chairperson and the Technical Assistant to the Hon. Commissioner as the Secretary, to articulate the challenges faced by all the departments and suggest possible solutions in order to allow him look at them and proffer the solutions.
