Asiuwhu Pushes for Cleaner Environment In Oshimili North and South

The Chairman, Delta State Taskforce on Environment, Chief Godspower GodspowerOmafuvwe AAsiuwhuJP , has called for stronger collaboration with the Chairmen of Oshimili North and Oshimili South Local Government Areas to promote a cleaner and more sustainable environment across the state.

During a recent familiarization visit to their respective offices, Hon. Asiuwhu emphasized the need for joint efforts between the state and local governments to tackle environmental challenges, including waste management and pollution control. He stressed the importance of a coordinated approach to maintaining high cleanliness standards in both urban and rural areas within the councils.

Chief Asiuwhu noted that while the state government has implemented various environmental policies, their success largely depends on the active participation of local authorities.

Asiuwhu further highlighted that this collaboration would not only enhance public health and safety but also contribute to the aesthetic appeal of Delta State, aligning with the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration. He also took the opportunity to congratulate the Chairmen on their successful re-election, describing their victory as a testament to their dedication.

The Chairman underscored the importance of ongoing dialogue between state and local officials to ensure that environmental objectives are met effectively.

In their responses, the Chairmen of Oshimili North and Oshimili South, Hon. Innocent Esewezie and Hon. Kelvin Ezenyili, respectively, expressed their commitment to working closely with the Task Force. They assured that efforts would be made to harmonize local environmental practices with the state’s broader vision of sustainability and cleanliness.

The visit concluded with an agreement to establish regular communication channels and joint initiatives aimed at addressing specific environmental concerns within the two council areas, ensuring a cleaner and greener Delta State for all residents.
