Asiuwhu Advocates For Care Of The Elderly, Brings Smiles To communities In Patani.
Patani, Delta State – In a commendable show of leadership and community care, the Chairman of the Delta State Taskforce on Environment, Olorogun Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu, has once again demonstrated his commitment to humanity by reaching out to the elderly in Uduophori, Odorubu, Bulu-Apelebri, and Adobu communities within the Patani Local Government Area.
Accompanied by his political aides, Olorogun Asiuwhu visited the eldest persons in these communities, emphasizing the importance of caring for the elderly as a societal responsibility. Speaking during the visits, he passionately advocated for extending love, care, and support not only to our biological parents but to all elderly persons within society.
“Old age is not a disease; it is a testament to strength, resilience, and survivorship through life’s many challenges,” he said. “At this stage, they often experience loneliness, and it is our duty to provide them with love, care, and attention. To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honors we can bestow, acknowledging their wisdom, sacrifices, and contributions to society.”
During the visits, Olorogun Asiuwhu gifted foodstuffs and cash to the most elderly man and woman in each of the four communities:
Uduophori Community: Chief Eruteta Stephen and Mrs. Thomas Evuatapha
Odorubu Community: Papa Maurice Dieguvwereyor (Odio Ighele) and Mama Ighovwota Ogbor
Bulu-Apelebri Community: Papa Tambo Lambert and Mama Dase Ogidigbo
Adobu Community: Chief Francis Odofori and Mrs. Macauley Didetimi
The beneficiaries, overwhelmed with gratitude, offered prayers for Olorogun Asiuwhu, wishing him peace, good health, safety, and continued success in his leadership journey.
The communities collectively expressed appreciation for the Chairman’s thoughtfulness, describing his actions as a rare display of genuine care and a model for other leaders to emulate.
This initiative not only highlighted Olorogun Asiuwhu’s unwavering commitment to inclusiveness and the welfare of all segments of society but also underscored his recognition of the elderly as pillars of peace and unity in Delta State.
Through this impactful outreach, Olorogun Asiuwhu has set a standard for leadership that prioritizes empathy, care, and respect for humanity, inspiring others to follow suit.
