NANI, EGBEDI INSPECT MULTIPLE DESOPADEC PROJECTS IN OGHARA, JESSE…Assure Residents of Timely Completion of Ongoing Projects…As Encomiums Pour in for Gov. Oborevwori and DESOPADEC.

The Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Barr. John Nani, alongside the Commissioner representing Ethiope West, Sapele, and Okpe Local Government Areas on the DESOPADEC Board, Hon. Julius Egbedi, has reassured residents of oil-bearing communities of the Commission’s unwavering commitment to completing all ongoing projects within the mandate areas as scheduled.
This assurance was given during an inspection tour of DESOPADEC infrastructural projects in Oghara and Jesse, Ethiope West Local Government Area on Wednesday, where they assessed the progress of various projects designed to enhance the well-being of the people.

Speaking after inspecting several projects, Chief Nani reiterated Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to infrastructural development and sustainable growth under the M.O.R.E. Agenda, emphasizing that DESOPADEC remain dedicated to delivering high-quality projects that will have a lasting impact on the oil bearing communities in the State.
“We are here to ensure that the projects being executed by DESOPADEC align with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who is determined to bring development to all parts of Delta State. Our visit is also to assess progress and ensure that contractors adhere to stipulated timelines and quality standards as outlined in their Bill of Engineering Measurement and Evaluation (BEME),” Nani stated.

He further disclosed that the Commission has also awarded the Second phase of the construction of Engr. Vote street, Oghara and that in a few months, DESOPADEC would commence the commissioning of several completed projects, adding that the ongoing inspection exercise would extend to Sapele and Okpe LGAs in the coming weeks to ensure alignment with the Governor’s developmental objectives.
Chief Nani also called on community residents and stakeholders to safeguard DESOPADEC projects and other government interventions, stressing that their protection would encourage continued investments under Governor Oborevwori’s administration.

On his part, Hon. Julius Egbedi expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far and reassured the people of Oghara and Jesse that DESOPADEC remains resolute in delivering on its mandate. He urged community leaders and stakeholders to continue supporting and cooperating with the Commission to facilitate smooth project execution.
“We understand the importance of these projects to our people, and I want to assure you that DESOPADEC will not relent in its efforts to improve infrastructure across the mandate areas. We urge contractors to expedite work while maintaining the highest quality standards, as the people of Oghara, Jesse, and the entire Ethiope West LGA deserve the best,” Egbedi stated.

He further assured residents that all projects initiated by the Commission would be completed on schedule and to the highest specifications. He also commended the contractors for their commitment to job specifications and quality execution.

The intervention of DESOPADEC in infrastructure development has been met with widespread appreciation from residents, who expressed their gratitude for the ongoing projects. Some residents who spoke to the press commended Governor Oborevwori and DESOPADEC for prioritizing development in the oil-producing areas. They urged the government to sustain the momentum to ensure continued infrastructural transformation. “We are grateful to Governor Oborevwori and DESOPADEC for their commitment to improving infrastructure in our community. This electrification project in Omoja will significantly impact our lives, and we eagerly look forward to its completion,” said Mr. Marvis Adu.

Similarly, Mrs. Mary Oghenekaro, a resident of Ovie-Agbroko Road in Jesse, praised DESOPADEC for constructing the road, which she described as a long-standing infrastructural challenge that had now been addressed.
At Oghareki, Mr. Joel Onakpoma commended the Commission for its dedication to community development and urged the government to sustain such interventions for the continued benefit of the people.

Some of the projects inspected during the tour were: Jesse: Construction of Ovie-Agbroko Road (Completed), rehabilitation and Asphalt Overlay of Doge Road (Ongoing), Construction of Oyibo Street (completed), and Construction of Super Road (ongoing).
Oghara: Constuction of Shalom Street Phase 1 (completed), Construction of Golf Road Phase 1 (completed), Construction of Baptist Church Road (ongoing), Construction of a 10,000-litre solar-powered water project (ongoing), and the electrification of Omoja Oghara (ongoing).

The inspection tour is expected to continue in Sapele, Okpe, and other DESOPADEC mandate areas in the coming weeks.
