Speak Up for Security: Udoka Calls for Community Accountability In Delta State”
Delta State, Nigeria – In a recent address, Engr. Udoka Emmanuel, the Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Security, highlighted the pressing need for communities to reassess their attitudes toward security matters. Speaking on the current state of security, he stressed that the decline in community safety is a result of widespread silence and a lack of action against unethical, illegal, and immoral behaviors.
“Our community is less secure today because of us,” stated Engr. Emmanuel. He explained that a growing reluctance to challenge negative events, and an increasing tendency to overlook inappropriate actions, has weakened the community’s overall resilience against crime and unrest. Engr. Emmanuel emphasized that addressing security issues requires a shift in community mindset and a commitment to speaking out on matters that compromise peace and order.
Encouraging a culture of accountability, he noted, “We should learn to speak up concerning things that make no sense.” This call to action seeks to inspire residents to take collective responsibility and foster an environment where immoral and unlawful activities are openly addressed and discouraged.
Engr. Emmanuel’s message reflects the Delta State administration’s broader initiative to promote community-driven solutions to improve safety and quality of life across the state.
